We are seeking an experienced and highly talented Environment Art Director to lead the development of world-class video game environments for our brand-new video game IP. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating visually stunning, immersive, and cohesive game environments and possess a strong understanding of stylized art direction.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with the game Art Director, Concept Artists, and other game leads to establish the overall in-game visual direction for the game’s environments and ensure it aligns with the project’s creative vision.

• Work with the Environment Art team to define the look and feel of the game’s worlds and levels, including their design, style, and atmosphere.

• Create visually stunning world environment assets that align with the game's creative vision, and set the bar for the rest of the team.

• Develop and maintain the art pipeline for environment creation, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all environments.

• Mentor and manage the environment art team, providing feedback and guidance to ensure high-quality work.

• Review and approve environment art assets to ensure that they meet quality standards and are consistent with the game’s visual direction.

• Work closely with other departments, such as concept art, level design, lighting, and tech art, to ensure that environment assets are integrated seamlessly into the game and meet all technical requirements.

• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in environment art, and provide recommendations for new techniques or tools that could improve the quality and efficiency of environment art production.

What you’ll need

• At least 8 years of experience in environment art creation for AAA games

• Strong proficiency in industry-standard 2D and 3D software such as Photoshop, ZBrush, Maya, or 3DS Max.

• Experience working on stylized environment art for games with a strong art direction.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with the team and effectively communicate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of environments into the game.

• Ability to lead and mentor a team of artists and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• A passion for gaming and the ability to bring a unique perspective to environment design to enhance the overall game experience.
